Academic Experience

This traineeship combines hands-on experience with academic learning, providing trainees with practical skills to complement their studies.

This programme bridges the gap between theory and practice, helping trainees excel in a dynamic university environment with the support of tutors and LSA students for guidance.

Build The Way is proud to partner with the London School of Architecture, offering our trainees the opportunity to complete the EPQ in Architecture worth up to 28 UCAS points.

Through tutorial sessions at the LSA, trainees will work through the EPQ learning modules, gaining valuable insights and skills. This journey culminates in their final project submission during the programme's final trimester.

Extended Project Qualification

  • The EPQ in Architecture, offered by the London School of Architecture, is a Level 3 course which introduces students/ young adults to a foundation in architecture.

  • Students will be guided through skills development and workshops , supported by academic tutors to take on the challenge of designing their own architectural project.

From sketching, drawing, model making to public speaking and site visits the students will develop climate literacy alongside core skills in site analysis and architectural projection, enabling them to communicate their ideas to others through a range of media.

On completion, students will receive a recognised and highly sought-after qualification worth 28 UCAS points.

  • EPQ sessions run on Thursdays from 4pm - 7pm at the London School of Architecture based in Dalston.

  • Partnership between practice and academic institutions is crucial. In this case, The LSA's EPQ in Architecture complements the practical experience gained through the traineeship.

The EPQ allows trainees to develop their own architectural projects while providing insight into university-level architecture education. Someone who has benefited from the practical experience of Build The Way and the academic experience of the LSA's EPQ will be well-prepared to excel in both future studies and in industry.
